Taming the First-Order Transition in Giant Magnetocaloric Materials

High and reversible magnetocaloric properties in MnFe(P,Si,B) materials strongly push the development of a new generation of room temperature refrigerators. Boron substituted MnFe(P,Si) systems are the best magnetocaloric materials ever synthesized (at least according to us). Besides showing the highest reversible effect ever reported this system is characterized by outstanding mechanical stability checked by applying the external field in operating conditions of real devices.
